Sofia is the capital and due to extensive bombings in World War 11 its current architecture is a mix of the old and modern. It's undoubtedly the soul of Bulgaria with lots to interest and entertain the tourist. Varna whilst an ancient city has all the amenities of a modern town shopping malls, parks and a lively night life with some lovely small beach resorts just a short car journey away.
