Cardiff - Wales
Airport

By Alan Thomas

A fairly modern airport, with good accessibility.
Large revolving doors, to the check-in area with lowered access to telephone and other facilities.

Two lifts (at the right hand side, of check-in) take you up to “departures”.
There are shops, food outlets, information desks, cash-points, bars and toilets.

Though passport control to “departure lounge” with more shops, restaurants, bars and toilets plus the “departure gates” (here the assistance staff will escort you to your plane).  Plenty of information screens, situated throughout.

Arrivals, is are just the same (without the lounge and restaurant), with baggage reclamation “carousels” and the exit hall, with toilets, car packing offices and tourist information about your stay in Wales.
All this airport is “step free”, floor being smooth (adding to the wheelability)

Hi Alan

Never been to Cardiff airport, sounds like they did a great job in the design,

hello all,
Thank you for the information about the airport. I am planning a trip next year and it may be Wales, or Greece; have not decided yet. I know they are totally different and all, but one is for family research and the other because I love historic places too.

I fly there quite frequently and I have found it be very relaxing while waiting for a flight back home. It has excellent facility's in the Departure Lounge and I'm sure you'll find the change relaxing too from the much more bigger airports like Heathrow and Gatwick. The Welsh people are so friendly too that you'll find that you nothing to worry about. O'yes, and you'll find the price of gifts, food, drink etc, much cheaper.
