HYDE PARK LANE BUNGALOWS,  Puerto Del Carmen, Lanzarote.
(January 7th-14th 2007)
I am a (active) Wheelchair user, and can recommend this resort to any person in the same situation.

The resort is built on a very, very slight slope (don’t worry it is very “slight”) could easily get around on my own. (some paths are narrower than others, not under 1 metre, though).  During my stay I saw a few wheelie users, which is a good sign, that access is good.
The staff, here (as on the whole island) are only too willing to help, when you need it (one even put my jumper on me when it got a bit chilly)
My bungalow had level access from the path via the patio to the door
Door width (front) 28 inches (threshold 1 inch) / (Bedroom) 27 ¼  inches / (Bathroom) 27 ¼  inches
Switch height 32 inches / socket 10 inches (2-pin),  Over bath shower (mixer tap), single “Grab Rail” at opposite end, toilet 14 inches high.
There is a supermarket on-site, but it is under ground, down a very steep slope, best to ask somebody to go for you- or go into town.

Weather was very good, the wind can make the evenings, and the odd day, chilly !!
Some bungalows do have one step, but many are level (patio tiles can be slippery when wet). I was in bungalow 54, at the end of the site. It was very quite here (I presume closer bungalows will have noise from The pool or passing holiday makers.

There is enough facilities onsite, to keep you happy, you can go down to the promenade  (if you are capable of it, you can climb over, the small wall at the bottom of the site)(this route is used quite often, so often that people have put “stepping stones” to help you) (a few hundred metres away, wheel on the roads (where safe to do so) as the tile pavements “seem” to be hard work !!) and pavement kerbs are sometimes high or have ramps that are a bit steep!!) or you can arrange transport to visit the island.
It has a pool (in the heart of the resort) Wheelchair access is about halfway down the main path, (away from reception and restaurant,)

On-site Food is very good, they have a restaurant (with Buffet or Menu to choose from) and a POOL side Bar, that provides evening entertainment.  (the pool has a “Lifegaurd” permanently at the poolside during the day. All main buildings have wide single, or double doors. (if you do go out for meals, La Rueda in Puerto del Carmen, a Grill bar serving Mexican food.  It has wonderful views of Fuerteventura, from the glass fronted restaurant (wheelchair lift down  to the toilets).  In Playa de los Pocillos, you can get a good Pizza at Bar Arepera “La Avenida”, right on the promenade or further along the prom. Is “La Marrisma” serving local and English meals.
Plus there are plenty of other restuarants and shops, to while away  the trip, as well as a huge beach.
