We had a great time in Sadari Corfu, accept Julie was stung on the foot the second day it was very sore, so we had to visit the doctors 3 times that week for Julie to have injections and a course of strong anti-biotic's.

We stayed in the Angeliki Apartments and Maisonettes, the accommodation was basic but clean, the maid Lucy came 3 times in our weeks stay. It's a good idea to take a torch as when we arrived at the hotel it was night time and it was quite dark at the main entranceway we were glad we took a torch with us.
The Angeliki is a family run hotel, Mum(Angeliki), Dad, Stellios, his wife and Costos, George was the barman. Stellios and George were very funny, the whole family were all very nice to us and very helpful. First of all we found the closest shop which is as you leave the hotel turn right go about 20 yards, go up though what must be someone garden path, turn left and your there, it has a good selection of food stuffs and other goods fresh bread, cakes, beer, wine, news papers and the like.

As we arrived we met a couple on their honeymoon , Keith and Annie, We went out a few days and nights together with them. We had a scream, we are still in touch with them..

So what did we do, We went on only 2 trips as we missed the round the island tour (a blessing in disguise as Julie could hardly walk), as the coach left early we were out side the tour operators 10 min's before, but the coach had left we didn't get a refund, so it might be quite a good idea to be there at 20mins before your due to depart or even sooner just to be sure. We went to Albaninia for the day to visit the ancient city of Butrinti and on the glass bottom boat trip. Also we went to a Greek night.

Sadari is not that far away from the hotel maybe 20 min's slow amble,( although Julie and myself made it about 10 min's,you can either get to Sadari by turning right (by road) as you leave the hotel or left,(over a field) if you turn right follow the lane till you reach the main road, turn right until you come to a tarmac road on the right, go down the tarmac road until you arrive at the shingle part of sadari beach go over the wobble bridge, ( its not disable friendly though as you have to go up 5 or 6 steps,if you need wheelchair access you will need to go there by main road) follow the road approx 300 metes, there are some good tavernas and a supermarket along here , the taverna were we went to the Greek night and ate a couple of nights is approx 150 yards from the bridge, carry on ,until you reach Sadari main street. There are lots of shops and taverna, the picture of the sad donkey is on that junction, if you turn left you come to the medical center that Julie and myself used, there's more tavernas and shops along that part of the street, turn right at the junction there are lots of shops, tavernas and bars, carry on though the main street to go to the canal 'D Amour approx half a mile. Leaving the hotel if you turn left follow the field path until you reach a hotel go through the grounds of the hotel you arrive on the shingle part of the beach the bridge is approx 200 meters from there. Bye the way the hotel that you arrive at has a talking parrot that sits on a table, we never ate there but it looked quite nice.

Albaninia

Our trip to Albaninia cost us a total of 47 Euros each in total, 15 Euros each which included lunch in a taverna in the sea port Saranda, 10 Euros each port taxes and 22 Euros for the trip to Butrinti which included admission to the archeological site( if you don't go on this there's not much to do in Saranda as far as we could see, on our short trip to Albaninia)(4 hours)I'm sure there is plenty to do though. We set off from our hotel at 7-20am and were picked up at the main junction in Sadari at 8 am, we went by coach to Corfu town to the port after paying our 10 Euros each port taxes, we went on the boat to Saranda Albaninia which took around 1 hour 15 min's, from there we got on a coach after a short break at the taverna, were we would be staying for lunch, there are lots of children selling lace and other trinkets we bought a few things, also they tend to beg quite a lot we had some young children aged 6 or 7 yrs followed us begging us for 1 euro they followed us into the town and everywhere we went until we eventually gave in.
We went to the ancient city of Butrinti, it took around 40 min's travel, the tour of Butrinti lasted around 2 hours.( poor Julie she enjoyed seeing all the site but her foot was absolutely throbbing that day it really swelled up and all the walking didn't help). Butrinti is situated in the Southwest of Albaninia and is a well preserved archaeological site.

Glass Bottom boat trip

This trip cost 18 Euros each and included a barb-a-que, wine and ozzo on paradise beach. We set off from the tour operators at 10-30am and went to Paleokastritsa to catch the boat, We saw the remains of a sunken ship, bits of metal and an anchor, and stalactite formations in a few caves,we stopped off at paradise beach it was scorching hot and were glad of the free parasols, the barbaque was good, we went swimming in a cave, altogether we had a good day.
